In the beginning there was…

… chaos!

It has been my intention to start a blog for quite some time now. There have been blogs popping up every second like mushrooms after rain, which deterred me from adding to that avalanche. However, at this point in time, I figured that I, myself, need an outlet – a place where I can speak my mind, analyze things and possibly carry some interesting conversations with other users of the Internet.

The plan is to have this blog evolve as I evolve, but we will need to wait and see if/ when that happens. While most of today’s blogs/vlogs show how perfect life is and how their authors are just living the dream, I thought it would be interesting to discuss the mundane sometimes. Because we all know that life is not perfect 100% of the time. I will pick an article I find (be it a piece of news, or not) and write a monologue about it. Sometimes I might make a loose association to another topic that I am passionate about and go off on that. So basically… No rules.

I will exercise my right to free speech. I welcome comments. Be it positive or negative feedback. It would be preferable if the negative ones had substance and some argumentative logic. but I am aware that not everyone is capable of that.

Here we go!

  1. My blog has also evolved so much since I started it. I think that’s the way to go. Some folk have a solid idea right away, and that’s very helpful. Sometimes, worrying about having just the “right” plan keeps you from actually starting.

    1. I see blogging as learning how to fly. Yes, you can just fly in your comfort zone, and that is fine. But sometimes, you realize that you can spread your wings wider; something you have not thought about in the beginning. I do not like to limit myself. Growth is a good thing. I think. Hehehe.

  2. I’m happy to report that my blog lists all the rejections I’ve faced as a writer and the hilariously bad situations I’ve found myself in hahaha. When I read someone’s blog and it’s all rainbows and sparkles, I get suspicious, no one’s life can be that perfect 🙂

  3. I started my blog with the same reason, as an outlet and also to improve my writing skills. Then i stumbled into poetry and fell in love with it! My blog has become a creative space for me. So keep writing & blogging! 😉☀️

  4. I really like your down to earth approach which surfaced in your comment to my post but is also present here in your manifesto blog. Yes, focusing on the mundane is really valuable. Good luck with your evolution. Just keep some space for the fantasy part as well! All the best,
    Margarita

  6. I like the concept of evolution your blog presents. No one is perfect, but I think we can appreciate where we are with the faults we have. There can be beauty in disaster. We can be both a masterpiece and a work in progress. Looking forward to reading more!

  7. The learning part is the most fun part i believe… Agar that is just post after post.. This is the time to actually feel jealous of other bloggers and blogs, invite them over, find out what clicks… Basically feels like making a baby 😂😂

  8. Its good to hear that you started a blog to improve your writing skills without much of a clue to what direction it is going, I have the same feeling and am starting to think on the one hand that I am pleased with what I am writing about, but on the other am starting to get itchy feet to try something new, slightly different to take me out of my comfort zone. Do you use any specific sites for daily prompts? Your site looks to have a direction, I feel slightly rudderless.

    1. Personally, I most use @DailyPrompt on Twitter. They post 2 prompts a day (12h intervals). I also like the Carrot Ranch for weekly prompts for flash fiction here on WordPress. And then, there is The Daily Post here on WP with daily prompts (one word or photo).

    1. Thank you! It’s a simple layout, but it serves my needs so far. I’ve been blogging for less than a year (9 months probably). I appreciate you stopping by. Come back again, soon.

    1. Thanks. No, I do not use any particular forum. Just search for the topics myself. I find that WordPress (or any other blogging group) is a great place to share common interests and find new people to join in the fun.

    1. Newspapers are definitely going out of style. They are cumbersome at this point in time. However, newspapers are a bit like books. I still like to flip through pages every now and then.

    1. I’m sorry this happened to you. I was away from my blog for a few weeks, but have now returned. This comment went to the spam folder. However, I was not able to find your original one anywhere. That’s too bad. Thanks for stopping by.

  9. It doesn’t really matter what else is ‘out there’ in the huge blogosphere – the personal aspect of it is what’s most important 🙂

  11. It’s great to make your acquaintance out here in the blogosphere. I really dig your voice. And look forward to more posts. That chaos persists, doesn’t it? All we have is a daily reprieve, some spiritual correctness…doing the next right when we can.

  12. My blog evolved as I was trying to find my niche. I like change and my blogs reflect that. I write mostly poetry and I like it to be edgy. I don’t like to read or write about gloom and doom but I don’t like to read or write about everything sugar-coated.

  13. Hey there! I will say one thing, my blog/life is far from perfect but fun anyway! Your blog looks like fun, will be checking things out more later, thanks for visiting my blog, hope you will want to come back for more, you would have to be brave though! lol!

  14. Your featured photo is well eye catching and catches my attention. Great choice. You are right, the earth and world and started as chaos until God got a hold of things and put them in them order. Wow your blog has changed. I hope to see more eye catching and interesting photos that are fun.

  15. I was hesitant about blogging too. As you say, there’s an avalanche of blogs. I thought if I’m essentially just writing and I’m the only reader, why put in the energy? But I’m glad I did. My blog has evolved (and will continue to) and slowly found a small, appreciative audience, which is great. I’m actually surprised at how much I enjoy being able to express myself and work on my writing. I’ve definitely been more productive than just tapping away in a Word doc that no one ever reads.

  16. I said, I will be back to read more. I like blogs that are real and address things nobody else wants to address and as they are doing that lift up the Lord.

  17. Howdy! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog. Is it tough to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Appreciate it

    1. Feel free to reach out to me via my Contact page with any specific questions. If able to, I will definitely try to help. WP makes it rather easy for you to “set up” a blog. But it does take quite a bit of time and effort to make it look good. Just start by creating a wordpress.com account and it will take you through the motions.

She picked up plenty of details, with the inclusion of what it is like to possess a very effective giving nature to have other folks without hassle gain knowledge of certain specialized issues. You actually surpassed visitors’ expectations. Thanks for rendering these informative, trustworthy, revealing and cool thoughts on that topic to Janet.

    1. Oh boy! I was just thinking about it the other day when someone was celebrating their 10th blogging anniversary. When I started, year 2 seemed like SUCH a win. Then I got there and it seemed like 2 DAYS had passed.

6 years… a lot has changed, but also not much. I wonder if that’s good or bad… I hope my writing has gotten better, but I realize that it’s still a hobby for me. Will I ever push it farther?

Also, I haven’t gone viral. That’s quite disappointing.
