[Commentary/ side note. Feel free to skip if you’re not interested. When I was walking home just the other day, I realized that I was writing a novel in my head. My thoughts and feelings were being organized, sentences were being edited, words were being substituted. This has not happened in so long! It might seem silly to you, but to me, it was a sign that my creativity is not dead, as previously thought. It was a sign that this blog and the exercises I have been performing in the recent months are causing my brain to sweat a bit and re-open the dusty folds deep down, in the back.
It motivated me to keep on going! Because you never know what you will encounter tomorrow, or even maybe later today. This can be applied to anything in life, not just writing. To celebrate and foster my momentum, I decided to do a week of hashtags. Welcome to #MondayMotivation!]

“Teeteet, teeteet, teeteet…”
The alarm clock awakens me from my sleep,
and I curse my last-night-self for placing the alarm clock out of reach.
“Teeteet, teeteet, teeteet…”
With an angry exhale, I flip over the covers and plant my feet firmly on the ground.
“Stupid mornings” – I think to myself.
“Teeteet, teeteet, teeteet…”
“And it’s Monday” – I realize while switching the alarm off.
As if I did not hate regular mornings enough…

“Tick – tock…”
I fumble through my sock drawer,
while putting on my pants.
“Tick – tock…”
My eyes keep looking at the clock.
“I should hurry” – I think to myself.
“Tick – tock…”
After dressing myself and sometimes combing my hair,
I rush out the door to start a new day.

…

“Beep”
I punch in at work and my day begins.
Not just my day, but my week.
Not just my week,
But the rest of my life.
Why would I want to rush a masterpiece?

I  close my eyes and inhale calmly.
Now, on the count of three,
when you open your eyes,
don’t look at the clock.
Don’t worry about tomorrow.
Just live
and your life will be worth living.
