The Liebster Award…

… FINALLY! I was getting worried. 😀 Not really, but really. *shakes head with a stern face, but then nods with a smile, in an attempt to confuse you and to hide the real excitement from within*

I got nominated by Sim, who is a Nigerian Princess and blogs about all sorts of things, including (but not limited to) dating, travelling and her culture. There is a lot of humor and personal touches in her posts, so feel free to give her a shout out!

Rules Of Accepting The Liebster Award. The Liebster Award is a blogger award for new bloggers or those with a small following. It is a way of giving new bloggers some recognition and encouragement for their hard work.

The instructions for accepting the award and passing it on are as follows:

  • Create a new blog post on your blog thanking the person that nominated you, link to their blog and put in a graphic of the award.
  • Answer the questions that were provided, and then share some facts about yourself.
  • Create a new set of your own questions for others to answer.
  • Nominate 10 others and share your blog post with them so they can accept their awards!

Below, I will answer the questions I was asked by Sim.

  • Q: What inspired you to start a blog?
    • A: Oh, that is an easy one. I needed to motivate myself to write more regularly and wanted to push myself creatively. Because I like giving my opinions, sharing my point of view and debating things with others, I found this platform ideal for my needs. I am enjoying myself more and more every day thanks to WordPress and all the great people I meet through it. I planted a seed. Now my tree is growing and is eager to bloom if I keep tending to it.
  • Q: What three words best describe you?
    • A: Now that is not as easy as the first one. Do I choose the adjective other people would use to describe me? My friends? Or my enemies? Or just the words I associate with myself personally. Hmmm… but is that not biased? Ok, here it comes: reliable, spontaneous and outspoken.
(Feel free to share what YOU think of me based on my posts and our interaction. I am curious.)
  • Q: What are you grateful for?
    • A: It might sound cheesy, but I really am grateful for a lot of things. From the basics like the roof over my head and the food on my plate, through the people in my life, to the experiences that I have had. The good AND the bad.
  • Q: What advice would you give your 16 year old self?
    • A: And back to a difficult question… Life was good for me at 16… So I would not want to impose my now-jaded-perspective onto my 16-year-old-self… What I would encourage myself to do is to have fun and enjoy the good times, because things would get rougher in the future. And also to try and figure out my passion and start working on it tirelessly. Who knows where I would be now if I had someone push me to do just that.

As for some facts about me…

  1. I would pick tea over coffee any day.
  2. I did not think I would like sushi… until I tried it.
  3. I do not drink much soda anymore, but when presented a choice, I would pick Pepsi over Coca-Cola.

*drum roll*

Now is the time we have all been waiting for. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the nominated blogs in no particular order:

  1. Aphorisms
  2. Thoughts of an Anxious Avocado
  3. Open source
  4. Sulaimaniac96
  5. Walking Oxymoron
  6. Youngmeetsfree
  7. Saranya
  8. smalltimejetsetter
  9. the Lamp, the Teacup and some Chaotic Overthinking
  10. Enamorado Blogs

And now for the questions for the selected few*:
(*Feel free to answer these in the comments if you were not selected, but still wanted to share!)

  1. What would be your perfect vacation spot and why? You could be as specific or as vague as you want to be.
  2. If you were to win a real award like an Oscar, who would be the first person you would thank in your speech and why?
  3. Tea or coffee?
  4. Tell me about something you did recently and enjoyed doing. It can be a book or movie suggestion, or maybe something you have done outdoors, or a dish you cooked. The sky is the limit!
  5. Bananas or strawberries?

Fine print: Please note that the nominated blogs above were selected from many amazing blogs. It was my intention to highlight the blogs that are currently active and do not have millions of followers. My apologies to you if you were not featured. I had to pick just 10… It was not easy… Please accept the cookies below.

        1. In case you didn’t know. In the editor (where you write your post), on the right, there is a panel with many different options. There, you can find a place where you can add a header image which will appear at the top of your post.

Hmm? What did you say? I did not hear ya.
