We have made it to Friday now. How does this make you feel? I am definitely excited to take care of some chores, but also to catch up on some reading.

This post was going to be about cold. We have had a few milder days recently, and so I conveniently forgot it was the dead of winter. Until I almost turned into a Popsicle. It is cold and the wind is razor-sharp.
However, as I stepped into work today, I was assaulted by a sea of red everywhere. No, you have not missed two weeks of your life. It is not Valentines Day yet. Today (as first Friday of every February) is the National Wear Red Day here in the US of A.
Before you roll your eyes and mumble something about the crazy Americans who come up with the most ridiculous of “days”, let me explain. Today is all about raising awareness about heart disease, which is a leading cause of death for both men and women in our country. While this is something that affects both genders, it seems that its symbol is a red dress. I am not sure why that is, other than the fact that until recently, heart disease was commonly associated with men, and women ignored it.
Because I care about you, fellow bloggers remember to:
- not smoke or use tobacco.
- exercise for at least 30 mins on most days of the week.
- eat more fruits and vegetables and fish and less trans and saturated fats.
- maintain a healthy weight.
- get enough sleep.
- manage stress.
- undergo blood pressure and cholesterol screenings regularly.
(These are outlined by Mayo clinic.)

You’re feeling much better when you turn off the phone
You beat yourself up wondering why the hell […]
Feelings like this don’t end.”

Fridays are the best. They should call it-“Freeday”.Also i like to exercise when i’m programming,i’m doing push ups who activates “sleepy” cells.

Staying active is a great thing.
It’s funny, because people do not like to work out in the evening because they can’t sleep afterwards. I’m quite the opposite. I like working out in the evenings (because I refuse to get up early and do it) and sleep like a baby afterwards.

Great post! In Canada we do the same with the month of February. It’s “Heart” month. I was born with a congenital heart defect so I thank you for bringing awareness to heart disease and illness! Enjoy your weekend, I’ll be doing some cleaning as well 😊

February serves as a great reminder to take care of our hearts. Literally and figuratively.

Oh, no, don’t do that. Seas are wonderful, but having salt in your mouth, throat and lungs does not sound appealing…

Thanks for reminder, I’m off my routine this week, and I can totally tell. Gotta get back on track with exercise and sleep. And thanks for the song, never heard it before and really enjoyed it. Take care and enjoy the weekend. PS the weather is so cold and snowy here today our main highway is closed.
