Award Ceremony – Feb. 2018

(See page 1 for thanks and intro.)

FROM: Becca, who has been the quickest learner I have seen here on WP. She blogs about her homestead, which is surrounded by a jungle. Many of her farm animals make an appearance in her posts. She also does some creative writing in response to various prompts. Go check her site out and tell her I sent you.

  • Acknowledge the person who nominated you for the award.
  • Answer the questions you were asked.
  • Nominate new bloggers to receive the award.
  • Compose a new set of questions for them to answer.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine blogger award logo in your post on your blog.

What made you start blogging?

I realized that the more I made myself write, the more creative I became, the more certain parts of my brain would spontaneously reveal themselves. So I wanted something that would motivate me to write consistently.

Where do you get ideas for your blog posts?

Since half of my posts are news related opinion pieces, the news is my inspiration. Sometimes it is what I see in it that makes me want to write about it. Sometimes it is the behavior of people around me that makes me want to write and I use news pieces to support my thoughts.
The other half of my posts are creative writing pieces, which are inspired by various writing prompts.

What’s the best advice anyone ever gave you?

It will sound jaded, but the best advice – You can only truly count on yourself. And if you want something done, do it yourself. While I do have a few people I rely on every now and again, these pieces of advice saved a lot of my sanity.

If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?

resourceful, committed, silly (in a good way)

What is your favorite animal?

Dogs are awesome. Tigers are majestic. But all animals are great.

What do you wish to accomplish in 2018?

Keep blogging. Face certain challenges in my life and come out happy on the other side.

Are people outside the blogging community aware of your blog? i.e. family, friends

What is your favorite dish to cook?

It depends if I cook it by myself or with someone else. And there are different answers depending on how much time I have.

How did you choose the title of your blog?

I am often told that I need to plan further ahead than I do. I disagree. We are given today. Yesterday no longer matters. We might not be alive tomorrow, so why worry. One day at a time…

Summer or winter?

Both have their pros and cons. Right now I will say summer. Ask me next year. It might change.

What made you smile today?

These awards. And some comments I received from other bloggers.

Please answer the same questions as I did.

  1. Congratulations on the host of Awards! Very well deserved indeed! & Thank You for the recognition on your post. Happy to be on the list. I liked the 2nd fact about yourself where you discovered you could have consolidated all of those into 1 post but kept going anyway.:)

I commend you on the level of details you maintained throughout the post and your commitment on getting back to every one! πŸ™‚

  2. Congratulations on your many awards! I love that you put time into answering all of them and didn’t take any easy outs.

Also, reading this makes me feel like a lazy πŸ’© for my post drafts. πŸ˜‚
Thanks for inspiring me to pick up the pace!

Also, I slept on a plane once and waking up to a stewardess sitting up my chair before landing in a place I’d never been was one of the most disorienting events of my life. I won’t be doing that again.

  3. I have been nominated a couple of times, but never for the “7 facts about me”.
The one I was aiming for. And now you did! Thanks!

I never participated in awards exactly for the reason that people will a comment with “congratulations” and the leave. They probably didn’t even read the thing.

Anyhow, I did read yours and I see quite some similarities!
My favorite fact is: “I prefer having no Internet to having slow Internet”.

  8. Took me a while to find no. 20. That was quite a lengthy award ceremony. But congratulations to you on all those awards!
And yeah, I wrote the books, tv shows and movies in that order because that’s my ranking too πŸ™‚ Good to know we have something else in common.
    Congrats once again!

    1. I’m doing alright, thank you for asking.
I trust you’ve been alright as well?
So your nomination is on page 7 of this post. Long story short – you create a new post, and in it you mention whom you got the nomination from, put in the award’s logo (page 1 of this post of mine), answer the question(s) you were asked, and then nominate your own set of bloggers, create questions for them. And you’re done!
