I have a lot of pictures on my computer. Recently, as I was backing up some things from my computer, I looked at my photo folder. Aside from the ones I have on this computer, there is … probably double the amount of others on the family computer. And then, there are drawers and drawers of photos from before the digital era.
In a way, I miss those physical pictures. Somehow, they just feel… more real. But then, I am grateful for the digital ones, because I can view them anywhere, anytime. Good ‘ol times. Wonderful family vacations. From when I was a kid. It was a time when I was not aware of the troubles of the world. When my parents worked hard to provide for us, but they never made it seem like a big deal.
Times when all I wanted was to sleep in my hotel, while my parents insisted on sightseeing. Now I know that was silly of me. But back then, they were the worst for not letting me sleep on my vacation. I greatly appreciate it what they did. I was able to see and learn so much. The memories are amazing. I miss those days…

I still look back on my old travelling photos back in the late eighties and early nineties. Funny times as a nineteen year old; I ruled the world and could do whatever I pleased! I’ve still got my diaries from that time too. Funny reading of an adolescent trying to be a man! I’ll post some when the time is right!

That sounds great. “Funny times as a nineteen year old; I ruled the world and could do whatever I pleased!” Totally!

I can identify with this. I love the old printed photos prior to digital and the memories they evoke

You must have been a teenager during your vacations. All my kids ever wanted to do was sleep. Sounds like you have a special bond with your parents.

I love printed photos. They’re amber moments, encapsulated memories that you can HOLD. Pics on a computer are great but they lack the empathy of a print

Cool :)) always fun to look back – how it was, remember moments and friends, family 🙂 I have a lot of printed photos from the childhood. Nowadays all is only digital Lol

Yes, we seem to take a lot more photos now, so digital is easier to store.
