It all ends April 23rd, 2018.

“Mommy, does it say anywhere in the Bible that the world will end in April?”

Someone I know was asked this question quite recently.

Her and I were both stunned.

Unsure of where the question came from.

Until I read an article on the Internet a few days later.

Theoretically, the greatest time difference between countries should be 24h, but in truth, it is closer to 26h. It is because of International Date Line being more of a zigzag than a straight line. The observance of Daylight Saving also adds to the time difference between the most “East” and most “West” points. For example at the time of me writing this post the time on Baker Island (US) is 6:48 am on a Sunday, whereas the time on Line Islands (Kiribati) is 8:48 am on a Monday.

And a quote from Wikipedia, which I found interesting:

For the two hours between 10:00 and 11:59 UTC each day, three different calendar dates are observed at the same time in different places on Earth. For example, at 10:15 UTC Thursday, it is 23:15 Wednesday in American Samoa (UTC−11), Thursday in most of the world, and 00:15 Friday in Kiritimati (UTC+14).

During the first hour (UTC 10:00–10:59), all three calendar dates include inhabited places. During the second hour (UTC 11:00–11:59) one of the calendar dates is limited to an uninhabited maritime time zone twelve hours behind UTC (UTC−12).

According to the clock, the first areas to experience a new day and a New Year are islands that use UTC+14. These include portions of the Republic of Kiribati, including Millennium Island in the Line Islands, as well as Samoa during the southern summer. The first major cities to experience a new day are Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand (UTC+12; UTC+13 with daylight saving time).

How is all of the above related to this post? Well, the world is coming to an end on April 23rd, 2018. And as I started writing this post, I wondered if you would read my post on April 22nd (publishing date), or maybe April 23rd. And then I realized that when this will be posted, people from different countries will be seeing different dates on their calendar. And since my research (shown above) illustrates that there is potentially a 26h difference between some places on the Earth, I wonder which country’s April 23rd will be the correct one. Let me know if you have the answer.

Now back to where I started.

I write this post fully aware that this post might not ever make it. The world might end before it is time to publish this post. I am fully aware that my post might be the last thing you will ever read. I hope it will be worth it.

If you are reading this on April 24th (or later), make sure that no place in the world still has April 23rd on their calendar, in which case, you should assume you are safe.

There are actually two reasons why the world is scheduled to end on April 23rd. The first one is related to the Book of Revelations in the Bible. Aha! Now I know why the girl asked her mother about the Bible predicting the end of the world in April. 

“And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth.” – Revelation 12:1-2

The Virgo constellation is said to be the “woman”. On April 23rd, the sun and the moon will be in Virgo. The Messiah is going to be represented by Jupiter, which will also be in Virgo.

“During this time frame, on April 23, 2018 the moon appears under the feet of the Constellation Virgo. The Sun appears to precisely clothe Virgo… Jupiter is birthed on April 08, 2018. The 12 stars at that date include the nine stars of Leo, and the three planetary alignments of Mercury, Venus and Mars – which combine to make a count of 12 stars on the head of Virgo. Thus the constellations Virgo, Leo and Serpens-Ophiuchus represent a unique once-in-a-century sign exactly as depicted in the 12th chapter of Revelation. This is our time marker.” – David Meade

It would almost be uncanny, IF this alignment did not occur every 12 years. However, this time it IS supposed to be real, because some other planets will align as well, forming a “Lion of the tribe of Judah”.

Planet X, or Nibiru, is the second reason for why the end might be near. The planet is to be on a collision course with Earth. Some believe that Elon Musk’s rocket is supposed to help destroy Nibiru, but NASA denies the existence of the elusive planet. It is possible that there is a planet to be discovered, which would be named Planet X, but so far, as we know it, it does not exist. The night of April 23rd, Planet X is said to appear in the sky, and cause World War III, the rise of Antichrist and begin the seven year of tribulation.

I found a list of predictions regarding the end of the world (in the past as well as in the future) very interesting. Take a look. It seems like we have been awaiting “the end” since a long, long time ago. However, predictions of the end of times are being made more and more often as time passes by. What does that mean?

All of this caused me to think about why we are so eager to see the end of times. I, for one, am a curious person, and because of that, I would not mind seeing the end of the world. It would mean that I have seen it all. It surely would be fascinating to see how it all really unravels. I hope it would also provide answers to some of our more difficult questions.

But why do people keep predicting the doomsday? Some might do it to instill fear. People fear death. People fear the end of the world. Fear is a great motivator. Some people want to capitalize on their predictions, and so they sell merchandise. Some create new religions. Most of us (if not all) would like to be famous. We like being right. And the best way to achieve both (and potentially a lot of wealth), is to predict the end of the world (correctly).
