We have made it through another grueling week.
We are the champions, my friend!
I noticed that people in the office say: “It’s almost Friday” as soon as it turns noon on Thursday. Everybody “has had it” and is ready for some (deserved) time off. When you get in on Friday morning, the atmosphere is relaxed, people seem to be smiling, and EVERYONE says: “Happy Friday”, or exclaims: “It’s Friday” when you ask them how they are.
That is self-explanatory. Fridays are good. Something everyone seems to be looking forward towards (everyone in the M-F working environment). I have been looking towards Friday since Thursday, or maybe even Wednesday, so when I finally got to work this morning and realized that was it, I breathed a sigh of relief. Eight more hours and I was going to be “free”.
Like every morning, I tried to pre-arrange my to-do list/ pile, only to discover there was not much to do. Even though that meant that the day would drag a bit, I was happy, because I just felt extra sleepy today, and had little energy for drama/ deadlines.
After a rather quiet morning, in the early afternoon, some people (who leave early on Fridays) started saying their: “Have a good weekend”‘s. And then it hit me. I COMPLETELY forgot about some crucial tasks that I should have done on Thursday and Friday. Naturally, I did not do it on Thursday, and Friday was coming to an end. I panicked for a second. But then, I just did it. It was stressful, though.
I would like to ask you if your “#FridayFeeling” ever got in your way? It seems that I was focusing on Friday so much that I forgot about Thursday, and that knocked me off the tracks. It was just another reminder of just being in the moment, and not daydreaming about uncertain future. If we focus on the future too much, we miss the opportunity to accomplish what we need TODAY.
Are you happy it is Friday?
Have you been waiting for it since Monday?
Any fun plans for the weekend?
Do you have the tendency to overlook today while you focus on tomorrow?
What is YOUR #FridayFeeling?
Stay golden,
.

I work Tues-Sun so #FridayFeeling is lost on me. . . Monday is my fun day . . Sunday is invariably a long long day but I do have some #SundayFeeling as I look forward to Monday 😴

So you’re one of those few people who do not hate Mondays! I grew up Catholic, so Sundays were reserved for church and family time, and I’ve been carrying that tradition into adulthood. I can’t imagine not having Sunday off.

I grew up going to church every Sunday also . . but being a single parent I take almost any hours I can get so bills will be paid

I don’t enjoy the weekends more than weekdays really, when I was working I had a ton of catching up to do and now they’re so busy with others shopping etc that I try to do what I need to do Monday to Friday. I used to love them when the kids were home from school. I realized a few years ago that a seventh of my life is spent on Mondays so I learned to make the most of them! Who wants to waste a seventh of their life?!

No Friday or weekends for us. Everyday of the week Is the same 😁

Do you mind that you don’t have a day (or two) to look forward to?
Or, because they all seem the same, you enjoy them more?

What a great perspective. Same could be said about sleeping (that it takes so much of our lives), but I refuse to sleep less.
You’re right – adulting is hard. And once you get a family (kids), then there really isn’t a difference from one day to another. It all just blurs, because there is always something to do.
But every now and then, I like to live in a tiny bit of DeNile, and so, even though my weekends are busy, in my head, they are still “fun” days.

Yup! They’re the sleep late days! I think I’ll probably appreciate them more when I start working again – for a lie in if nothing else but they were definitely catch up days before.

“Lie in” aren’t the simplest things the greatest pleasures in life?

I know exactly what you mean! I love that Friday feeling but I have often run out of steam by the time Friday rolls around! I have to make a concerted effort to focus on what needs to be done and what will be happening when I get back in on Monday!! It’s been a particularly long and tough week though so I was very ready for the weekend to start by about Wednesday😁

I see we were in the same boat this week!
Maybe next week will be so good that we won’t want Friday to come? (Oh, who am I kidding :D)

Hahaha it would be amazing if that happened! We’ll have to wait and see what next week brings!

I usually work from home Fridays and we currently have summer hours which means we can be done at noon. I have major Friday feelings starting Thursday afternoon😊👍🏼

My last job was similar. I don’t miss anything about it, but the short Fridays. It just elongates your weekend so nicely.

I’m a student and I’m on vaca now. So no FridayFeeling by far. And, I think I usually have ThursdayFeeling because Friday and Saturday are holidays where I live in😉😉

I remember hearing “Happy Friday” for the first time and it was a bit strange to me. Now I grown a custom to it. For me, I usually do not make too many weekend plans, as I usually go with the flow on the weekend.

Same here, because plan can get foiled by too many different factors. It’s too stressful. Going with the flow is the way to go.

Have you been waiting for it since Monday?
Not really, my job is rather easy, it doesn’t take a lot of energy or smarts
Any fun plans for the weekend?
Laundry, shopping and cleaning

What is YOUR #FridayFeeling?
Hmmmm, good question. I am new to this hashtag, I remember when it was referred to as pound. An older person would probably read that as pound Friday feeling, a whole different meaning all together. I know that’s not an answer to your final question, but I’ve never thought about it before and I can come up with no answer.

It seems like we are destined to work all our lives. Either at work, or at home. No break.
PoundFriday. Now that’s funny. Hashtags are all weird to me, too, but I decided to give it a go.

Now apply it to #metoo, pound me too, new slang vs. old ways. LOL

I’m not sure if it will work, but if you want to, click on your avatar in your right hand corner, in “My profile” scroll to the bottom to profile links. There you can add the new one and delete the old one. That way, when you post on other people’s posts, they can click on your name/ link and be taken to your new page.

I try to not think of what day of the week it is!
But of all days, I dislike Thursday and Sunday the most.
I wish I could say that the Friday is always a quiet day for me, but unfortunately not.
Our technicians also work in the weekend, so they could easily request documentation on Fridays or in the weekends 😦

I can understand Sundays, but why do you dislike Thursdays?
LikeLike
If people choose to work part time, they usually take the Monday, Friday or Wednesday off (kids only go half a day to school).
That makes Tuesdays and Thursday the busiest days on the road.
Tuesday I’m still “fresh”, but Thursday I can barely stay awake.
So that’s why 😉

Being a “homemaker” – I work for 7 days a week! Sadly, no break for people like us, even though my Huz tries to pitch in!!
What works for me – is a once in a month break, change of cities, vacation, beach!

That can’t be easy. Especially when you take care of the house + kids, and then, on top of it, you work outside the house, too.
Breaks are advisable. That’s great that you’re able to do it.

I no longer work, I’m retired, by force tbh. The days run together for me until the little ones are in school. My daughter works 5 on 5 off one shift 5 am the other 3 pm while my son also works shift work early morning, noon or later until midnight. Makes for a long day as I am up at 7 to make sure the little ones are fed dressed and off to school, making meals at odd times of the day, making sure everyone gets to horseback riding, gymnastics or dance. Then evening time homework, night time rituals are adhered to and a last meal for the latest one home. Days run into one another for me, I often forget what day of the week it is. Especially during summer vacation. I’d hoped I’d get to sleep in once or twice and just say hey, what a joy. I’m too intuned to getting up. Perhaps next time. 🙂

Your kids are lucky to have you to take care of the kids, etc. I often wonder how people who aren’t as lucky manage to do it.
I can totally understand how it’s a blur to you. I pray that I never get up too early just because I’m used to it. My body just doesn’t seem to think that way, and I am most definitely grateful. Enjoying sleeping in is a treat I wouldn’t want to lose.

lol. I have never slept much, 4 maybe 5 hours on a good night. I got used to it. The first 8 hour sleep I got was the first night the kids were both out of the house. No one to consider but me. It didn’t last long though, lol.

I can’t imagine. But then, I said: “I can’t imagine sleeping 6h” in the past, and that’s what I’ve been doing for a while. I’ve recently gone up to 7, so it’s a win.
