(The prompt for this CW can be found at the bottom of this post. I did not want to spoil the story in advance.)
Britney went out for her morning swim, just as any other day. Dressed in sequins, she was instantly swarmed by random males, trying to catch her attention.
Tired of fighting them off, she devised a plan.
“If you want to hook me, you will have to prove that you can provide for me.”
The moment she uttered that, two contenders were already eyeing the target from the opposite sides.
On her mark, they raced towards a juicy prey.
Albert got there first.
Britney crossed her fingers.
He was hot.
But, as soon as she thought that, Albert disappeared from right in front of her never to be seen again.
“Oh, well, another one bites the dust” – she sighed.
Carson was suddenly filled with confidence, having his opponent vanish. He pounced at the prey as soon as it reappeared.
Britney closed her eyes as soon as she saw a trickle of blood.
The second contender was fighting for his life, bleeding profusely from his cheeks and neck.
He took a few last gasps and fell to the ground.
Britney was about to go home when Frank jumped out of nowhere.
He lunged forward, got the prey, and brought it to his Queen before she even blinked.
“My worm. For you. Be mine.”
“My favorite one! You did well. I hear wedding bells.”
“Write a love story about two fish.”
– a prompt for this week’s CW piece.

Wow! Where do you find all this creativity!?
Britney is playing hard to get 😉
Also, I first thought you were choosing the names in alphabetic order, but came Frank and skipped the D & E.

You cracked me up with the order names, because I was sitting there yesterday, writing this, and all the names that would come to me would start with the very first letters of the alphabet. Not really sure why. So I made a conscious effect to switch it up. BUT, I somehow couldn’t force myself to come up with a name from the end of the alphabet, so I thought Frank was a happy medium.

It are original names though.
It makes me wonder how you pronounce my name.
Probably different than I do, which is again different from how my parents do.

I know people, who say: “Andreya”, and those who say “Endrya”. Either one close?

I’m glad Britney isn’t too picky.

Ha! Great strategy – not giving the prompt until the end of the story. Love it!

It would have spoiled all the fun otherwise. I wanted to have people guessing. Thanks, Laurie!
