Award ceremony – October 2018.

(See page 1 for thanks and intro.)

FROM: Rachel at FictiveFinesse, who posts chapters of a rather unusual book she is writing. Definitely peculiar. It being in chapters holds your interest and makes you want to read the next part (but you cannot until it is posted).

  1. If you could meet 7 book characters, who would you want them to be?

Snape, Dumbledore, The Mad Hatter, and 3 of The Six Bullerby Children

  2. Why did you start blogging and what blogging advice would you give to beginners?

See page 2 of this post.

  3. Which is your favorite song, movie and TV series/ Web series?

I do not really do favorites.

  4. Would you rather live in eternal silence or eternal noise?

My gut reaction was: eternal silence, because I (unlike most people around me) am completely fine with sitting by myself in silence for prolonged periods of time. However, then, I realized that the answer might be a little bit more complicated. I am not sure if I could live without music. So, I guess it depends what “noise” really means.

  5. Name one book that you would recommend everyone to read.

    Crime and punishment.

  6. Write one quote that made you feel differently about life.

“A diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure.”

  7. What are you most afraid of?

On my deathbed – not being happy about the life I lived.

  8. Who is your favorite Disney character?

  9. Which Harry Potter house are you in?

Of course, when HP came out, I knew I was in Gryffindor. I owned appropriate hat + scarf. My two friends (back then) and I pretended to be Harry, Hermione and Ron for the longest of times. Can you guess which one I was? I just took the first online test and I scored Gryffindor.

  10. What is that one thing which you’d like to improve about yourself?

Letting go of things. It is a work in progress.

  11. If you could make one award of your own then what would it’s name be and why?

    For blogging, or in life?
“The reasonable and logical award”. It could be applied to both. I really value that in people.

  1. Wow, somebody’s very popular!!! Congratulations Goldie. Dostoevsky, very impressive, your street cred just went up. Crime and punishment, incredible read. Have you ever read George Orwell? 1984 or Animal Farm?

What about William Golding, The Lord of the Flies?

Lastly, have you ever read King James Version Bible?

    1. I thought I did, until I saw your question. Then I wasn’t so sure at the moment.
It took a moment to collect myself, and I realized that yes, I do know a person, or two like that. Maybe they aren’t like that 100% of the time, but from what I’ve seen, they are near damn close.
You would be one of them.

            1. Now you recognize and acknowledge my good traits. Are YOU in management?
Aren’t we all in a way?
Even though my formal title does not reflect that, I do that job every day.
Thank you for your supportive words.

              1. I did work in supervisory positions in a couple jobs. Then when I left the wonderful world of work I my life was focused on “managing” my family (raising 4 daughters). Now I just manage my own life. LOL.
I was reminded of a couple of bosses that I have had that saw things in me that I didn’t know existed. They put me in positions that I would have never volunteered for and even tried to refuse -yet I excelled and I became a better person for it.

  2. Hey! Congratulations for all the awards that you’ve won! I enjoyed reading all the answers. Ha! Snape and Dumbledore are the top names in my list, too! And you got Gryffindor! I so wanted it but my house shifted between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff (yeah, I tried the the Pottermore test and other online tests many times)
    That quote is pretty thought-provoking.
Noise implies a loud chaos of words, shouts, cries and screeching. Silence means that void in which you hear nothing. Not your thoughts, not any song, nothing. I’d really like to know the answer to this question that is which one of these will you choose and why.

    1. Your nomination made this post possible. I enjoyed answering these questions.
      I’d have to say silence.
Just today I almost exploded because people around me kept talking all day long and I could not get a moment of quiet.
      Which one would YOU choose?

      1. I’d choose silence, too. I tend to get very irritated when I’m in noisy crowded areas. But the idea of being in eternal silence also scares me.

          1. Yes. I mean, who wouldn’t go insane, living in an ever-lasting silence? I guess, in this case, I’d rather not choose between any of them
