HW: #FridayFeeling

I woke up this morning almost being able to smell the weekend. I just had to get through Friday. It was not going to be bad. The day would pass by quickly and uneventfully.

Or so I thought.

During the day, I received less than good news. Just in time to spoil my weekend. Ha!
Have you ever waited for the weekend only to be disappointed?
Not cool. What happened?

But instead of crumbling down, I reminded myself of my nature. When I get kicked down, the adrenaline builds up immediately, and I approach life head on. And that is what I plan on doing this time around, too.

So how am I feeling right now? I am filled with a warrior’s spirit. I want to set a challenge and then run with it. Aside from random ones in different fields of my life, I am thinking of a blogging one, too.

Ever since I started blogging, I would read about the importance of regular posting. However, it did not seem SO important to me and my Followers. Or so I thought. For the longest of times I adhered to a schedule, but I also did not. My NROP would post on Sundays, but sometimes they would appear on Monday, if my weekend was too busy. My CW pieces appeared on Tuesdays. Then Wednesdays. And recently, I think… Thursday? I believe my Awards posts were always posted on the last day of the month for the past year, so that is pretty stable. The HW was also pretty regular. (I cannot do a #MondayMotivation on a Wednesday.) However, with the increase of different types of posts, I sometimes use one post as an excuse to not write another one (ex.: There was no NROP, or CW this week, since I posted HW posts.).

Today, I take back the blogging reins and come up with a solid (category, date, time) blogging schedule, which will softly start in February (so that I ease myself in), and then the grand opening will occur in March.

How are YOU feeling today?

Do you have a blogging schedule?

How do you decide when to post?

Stay golden,

  1. That’s an impressive schedule. I started off January aiming to do three posts a week, scheduled for Sun, Tuesday and Thursday. I met that goal and threw in a couple of bonus posts for fun.

February is likely to be scaled back. If I get two posts a week, I’ll be happy. Fingers crossed.

And good luck to you as you head down your posting path!

  2. So glad you are not letting life get you down. Much like you I am feeling good because I am facing challenges head on. I don’t have any kind of blogging schedule – once a post is finished I publish. It’s just what works for me.

    1. That was my method, too. I’ve said in the past that a rigid posting schedule is not for me, but I won’t know for sure until I try. So I want to give it a go, since I’ve proven to myself with NaNoWriMo in November that I CAN (write 50k in a month).

  3. Q. How are YOU feeling today?

    A. If I’m being honest, it’s been a super rough couple of weeks. Just ups and downs really. Sometimes, real setbacks and other times, feeling overwhelmed.

    Q. Do you have a blogging schedule?

    A. Not in the least. Maybe one day, for now, I’m just having a blast.

    Q. How do you decide when to post?

    A. When it comes naturally.

  4. Yes, I have!
Just yesterday I didn’t pass a certain training (to deliver it).
Manager asks for reasons. I tell them (they gave me a one day notice).
He tells me “Now you’re just making up excuses”.
    Go to hell.

Hope you’re feeling better after a good night rest!

I didn’t realize you had a schedule until recently. But now I can look forward to something! 😉
You are doing more than just regular blogging, which is awesome, but surely more challenging for you! I don’t know where you find all that creativity.

    I don’t have a blogging schedule.
The only rule I have for myself when it comes to blogging is to stay withing 360 words.
(Which is not always the case)

    1. It must have been really annoying to hear that from your manager. I hope next week is fresh and good.

Actually, today wasn’t good, either. But there can be no light without darkness, so I soldier on.

I guess the fact that you didn’t know I had a schedule just proves that I need one. A real one this time around. It will not be easy. I already know it, but I want to give it a try. I find that creativity breeds creativity.

I remember when you used to blog daily. Weird not to see your posts all that often recently. Under 360. Interesting. My posts started of as 1200. Around there. And I’m actually semi-upset when I fall below the 1k threshold. But I have to remind myself that I cannot always achieve interesting posts, a wide array of readers, a million words, and a life.

      1. Ugh! Sorry to hear that yesterday was bad too! Especially since it was a weekend day.

I know. Blogging has been a struggle for me lately. I guess I still have inspiration. But then I don’t write it immediately and I forget it!

If it’s good content (like yours) I don’t mind long posts at all.
To critisize myself in a realistic way, I think my writing skills are OK, but if my blogs were much longer, I don’t think it would be. So that’s why I keep them shorter.

  5. How are YOU feeling today?
    Weekend Vibes! 😉

Do you have a blogging schedule?
I tried to, but lately everything is just random! A few things are still on time tho, like Real Talk on Mondays and Freedom of Expression on Thursdays! Rest – as the days go!

How do you decide when to post?
It actually has to come naturally.. I have noticed that when I force it, the content is not that great, which is more troublesome to me than not posting at all!

  6. I’ve been in the same boat. Keeping to a schedule is so important for continued success. Eric Thomas posts every Monday and his podcast every Tuesday, no matter where he is in the world.

      1. I started sticking to a schedule January last year and continued it for most of the year. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Once I moved to Japan, though, my schedule got messed up and I haven’t gotten back on track, yet.
