CW: Origins of Princess Ota; Born to be wild.

“In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story about an interlude.”
– a prompt for this week’s CW piece.
[Source: @CarrotRanch]

“This is boring” – Ota announced, letting out an audible yawn.

Frank and Veronica looked at the girl, their eyes filled with sympathy.

“”Around the world in 80 days” is a classic. Sit still” – said Frank, placing his hand on Ota’s shoulder.

“Shhhh” – came from all around.

“An interlude!” – exclaimed Victoria.

Before she could say anything else, Ota ran out.

They saw the girl trip and pull down the curtain to steady herself.

“We gave you our daughter to show her how it is to be average. Not to teach her how to be simple” – the queen said with disgust.

P.S. As always, you are more than welcome to use this prompt to inspire your post. If you decide to write something, be sure to pingback to this post, so that I can get an alert and check out your post. (A post on how to do pingbacks can be found here.) If pingbacks are not your thing, feel free to simply leave a link to your piece in the comment section below. The more, the merrier!

          1. Not a fan sometimes, half the time they publish when I am trying to tweak, then my fonts gets screwed up, comments to spam, and when I write the block thing can be taxing. Good thing I don;t pay money for this, oh wait…

            1. The block thing is something I still don’t use. People say it’s buggy as heck, I plan on doing a series of posts detailing the blocks, etc. When, no, IF I find time in the next couple of months, it’s coming.

                1. I just use the classic editor and don’t bother with the new/ fancy one. My blog is simple and it does not need all the frills the new one promises. But sometime next year, the new one will become the ONLY one.

  1. Beautiful!
I did search of princess Ota but much info. Is there a meaning behind it?

Also, you inspired me for a doodle. I will try to make it today!!

    1. It depends. This particular prompt took longer than some. I actually had no idea, but I decided to push myself. I decided to do it and then I think I left it for a day. I thought of the theatre first, then high class people, then I wanted it to be somewhat humorous and so this story came to be.

It’s often a game of word association for me. The first thing that comes to mind when I read the prompt. Sometimes there are multiple stories, and sometimes there is just one. Some speak to me louder than others.
