Award ceremony – October 2019. Receiving and giving.

Aaaaaaaand, another one bites the dust.

The week that is. Another week has come to an end. And another month. Writing this made me think of the end of December. It will be here before we know it. This year, I hope to take it slow and enjoy the season. But enough of thinking about the future. We are here and now.

To make this Award Ceremony run smoothly, please stop at the table by the door for seat assignment. Figuring out the seating chart has not been easy, because I wanted everyone to sit next to everyone. That is the only way this would have been fair. Unfortunately, I was unable to meet that goal. If you sit next to someone you know, feel free to catch up before or after the ceremony. I urge you to switch off your cell phones and other personal devices to maximize the experience here and now. However, if you are seated next to someone you have never met, think about introducing yourself to them. They might turn out to be an interesting person.

If you did not understand my subtle hints, I was trying to encourage you to connect with other bloggers mentioned in this post, as well as with those in the comment section. Who knows what treasure you might find.

As per usual, I would like to thank each and every one of you for making my blogging journey so exciting.

Thank you for sharing your personal experiences and opinions.

Thank you for challenging my views.

Thank you for prompting me to think about the things I overlooked.

Thank you for your continued support in the forms of “Likes” and comments.

It is because of all of you that I feel like I am not alone. Like I am learning and growing.

Thank you!

I feel like the award/ tag posts have mostly died down as of late. Many bloggers have become overwhelmed and grew to dislike them. To me, these nominations are a lot of fun. It is a nice gesture, and I like turning it into Q&A/ Get To Know Me type of post.

Because of that, I am extra grateful to Em and Lashaan for thinking of me and tagging me with these. You are shining stars in this dark world.

The tags I received during the month of October are:

  1. I never thought about doing something like this before. I have at times accepted awards, but mostly kept the blog as a creative writing outlet. I’ve been wanting to get back to the connections and conversations. It’s definitely something I’m really enjoying these days.

    1. I understand. I didn’t want to spam my blog with award posts, hence the once a month post that encompasses all the awards and tags.

Indeed. The conversations and connections are very important. They motivate you. They inspire you. They give you an escape.

  2. Haha I’ll have a wild guess why ai got the stormer award 🤫 I am now without laptop, so I guess I will be buying today. Maybe.
Not one with the bitten apple, but I did buy an iphone. An older model. But I just couldn’t deal with losing all my stuff from the previous one. Mainly cause all the apps for my doodling were expensive to buy again.
    Thank you icloud.

Ps. I’ll do an apple doodle soon.

I love citrus as well. Also as ice cream it’s my favorite !

    1. The rules for my Stormer Award are simple.
      1. I count the amount of comments made by every single person. – This is the most important metric.
      2. I might deduct some points if your comments are… not substansial in essense.
      3. Once a winner, you are out of the running for the next … while (not determined yet). I want to encourage everyone, not just one or two people.

Good luck buying a laptop. I keep delaying having to do the same.

That’s one of the reasons why I don’t like them. They trap you. Once you’re with them, it’s like prison – you can’t leave.

I look forward to your doodle.

Ice cream? Orange? Lemon? Lime? I dislike fruit flavored ice cream. It defeats the whole purposed of the ice cream being a “treat”.

  3. The symbol of a bitten apple? I have no idea what this is about. I’m guessing it has to do with Adam and Eve in the garden. It’s a symbol people are using? Why? Maybe I don’t understand what you mean. 😀 You are really good about coming up with things to say about yourself. Whenever I get the question to say something about myself I go blank. I really have to wrack my brain, but then I probably assume that Tina facts are kind of boring because I’m pretty square, old fashioned and I appreciate the simple things. Hey I just said something about myself. Lol. 😁

    1. Apple’s logo is a bitten apple. I just didn’t want to blatantly use that company’s name.
Your Eden idea made me smile. What if that’s exactly what the logo represents? People tasting the forbidden apple and being cast away from paradise? I’m probably reaching here, but I like to speculate.

Not. At. All. I struggle with things to say about myself. Usually, I say something mundane. A phrase, a short sentence. But somehow, this time around, inspiration came. The person that nominated me shared some cool things and she elaborated on them. It motivated me to reciprocate.

I totally relate to your “boring facts”. I didn’t read that part of your comment when I wrote “mundane”. Yet another thing we seem to have in common.

      Stay golden!

  4. I never knew about the whole page number setup. I don’t know how you do it. 😮 Is it a blog feature or something for that? Thanks for the shoutout nonetheless and I greatly appreciate that you tag along with my own blogging/reading/tv-show-movie-watching life. Keep up the awesome work on your own blog!

    1. I hit shift+alt+P. However, it doesn’t seem to work for everyone. I wish the page numbers were more visible. Maybe if they were placed right under the text instead of way below.

Your blog is really enjoyable. It motivates me to read more, which I think is one of your goals.

And thank you for the encouragement.

  5. I never knew anything had a bitten apple 🙈.
Thanks for your nominations in the past… I know I never acknowledged them for I never knew what to do with them, I really appreciated the thought though and was touched. I know, I know, I should have said so then, whenever they were, but thanks!!!

    1. A very big tech company has it as a logo. Many seem to be confused by that. I’m not sure why… hmm….

That’s quite alright. People react to them differently. I nominate those that I want. It is up to the people that receive it to do something about it or not. Absolutely no pressure. It’s meant to be fun and not an obligation.

      Stay golden!

Though it depends on my mood usually which I choose. I like the top hearts best, the candle best, and I think the top glitter looks most like glitter although not especially my favourite. The fireworks are. I love the envelope too.

        1. I think I would go with the first heart, but I do like the envelope, too. I like the candle, but it’s a bit hard to make out on the computer. Maybe there is a more defined candle option? As for glitter, I like the second one.

Overall, option no.2 is pretty neat.

              1. I’d love sleep!!! It was good. It was/is good to have time to catch up on comments here even if not yet got time to catch up on posts…. been busy today and yesterday was shabbat so just reading/lazing about.

  6. @floatinggold: This is probably one of the rarest of times when i’ve scrolled through an entire comments section and read each and every comment word to word. I particularly enjoyed all the queries from the guests and brilliant responses from @floatinggold. such spontaneous wisdom is a gift and I admire that very much. I wish everyone a safe and happy bounce back to the brilliance of all things life. let’s continue the enthusiasm and spur each other on. we all need one another.
