Golden Review: Emotional Doodles

A couple of months back, I added a new category to my blog’s menu. Since many (most? all?) of you read my posts via WP’s Reader, you might not even be aware of it. If you head to my actual website, you will find the Partnership tab right on top. There, you can find more information regarding this new idea of mine.

Even though I had launched that page, I was not ready to announce and advertise it back then. Well, the time has come! This is my first Golden Review (GR), and I consider this chapter of my blogging journey as officially open! (Que trumpets, applause, and fireworks.)

After I announced my break from blogging back in March, Andrea from Skeptical Heartism reached out to me to ask if I was alright. In my response to her, I mentioned that I was going through a tough time, and so she graciously offered to send me a gift to cheer me up.

Doodling is her passion, and throughout the last couple of years, she put a lot of heart into creating unique Emotion Doodles. You thought you could not live without emojis? Well, you surely will not be able to live without those doodles once you get to know them.

What I like the most about Andrea’s products is her dedication to customer satisfaction. She gets to know you and your preferences and then incorporates that into her designs. Together, we brainstormed a little and came up with something absolutely UNIQUE. You heard that right. No one else on this whole planet has the same product as I do. How neat is that? (Of course, if you like my customization, you can request your product to look like mine.)

When I got back into the country, I emailed Andrea to tell her that I was ready to receive her gift but that I felt uncomfortable not paying a fellow artist for their efforts. She recommended that if I wanted to, I could buy something from her shop on top of the gift. Since I already own a couple of items from Andrea’s store (and love them!), I found it to be a great opportunity to explore other products.

The delivery was prompt. When I opened the door and saw a soft, square package, I smiled. Although I knew what the design would be, I opened it like a kid on Christmas morning – with anticipation for something amazing. It was so much more than what I had expected.

These are two different sides to the same pillow. What I noticed first were the colors. They just POPPED when I pulled the item out of the bag.

The pillow is well-stitched, allowing for easy removal of the warning + product info tag.

The material feels like you could wash it with a damp towel if you were to spill or drop something onto it. Although I will treat this pillow as a prized possession, I know accidents do happen, so I want to be prepared for it.

The size is perfect for a decorative pillow because it does not take a lot of space when it is ideally sitting on your sofa. However, it fits perfectly in between your arms when you are watching a movie and need something to snuggle. Or when you are resting your head on your partner’s bony shoulder. (Please note pillow size is a customizable option.)

What can I say about the actual design? It is perfect. There is this feeling you have when you buy an item you like. You are happy. Things are different when you receive an item that has especially been made for you. There is heart in it, and that brings you deeper joy and appreciation for having such a product. I love my pillow!

If there was one thing that I had to nitpick on, it would be pushing the “Stay Golden” text a little towards the right and the shark towards the top so that every detail was in full view. Every line of the design is an integral part of the image.

Oh, I almost forgot! Aside from designing a custom item with Andrea, I also enjoy the actual purchasing of the product. When I’m ordering something online, I hold my breath when I get to the final page, which lists the total cost. Taxes and shipping and handling can often make you reconsider the purchase. With Andrea, there are no hidden costs. You see the total price at the very beginning. It already includes taxes, as well as S&H.

I am so proud to be displaying Andrea’s doodles in my home because it adds a pinch of my personality to the place. Not only does it look gorgeous, but it also makes me smile whenever I look at it. Moreover, it motivates me to keep on working on my book.

Thank you, Andrea, for being so compassionate and generous!

Visit Andrea’s Doodle Shop and browse her selection TODAY. Contact her for any custom orders, and be sure to tell her I said, “Hi!”

The other product that I ordered together with the pillow was a set of pens. I am totally satisfied with how they came out. Again, they are personalized AND they look professional.

A pen with website name
A dailyflabbergast pen

  1. Wow. That was a really cool thing for Andrea to do. Nice pillow, too. 😄

Reviews, huh? Interesting idea, and very you. Though I see you’re super cagey (that is, about your gender) even on your Partnership page. Holding onto the air of mystery, eh? One day, Goldie — one day, we shall know *100%* for sure! …Maybe.

      1. You seem very… Hmm… Decisive? If there’s something you like, you say it. And if there’s something you don’t like, you’re no stranger to saying that either — though not to give offense, but so that the other person can understand your view on things, and possibly improve something they may need to improve. Which seems like the perfect outlook to go with writing reviews.

Hah! Well then, keep your selective ambiguity — I like a good mystery. 😝

  2. I read it again and I am smiling even more!
I love doing requests. It makes it much more personal and frankly, I sometimes I feel like I am out inspiration. So keep ’em coming!

It’s an honor to be your review post! Hopefully there will be many more.
I also LOVE the “Golden Review” Logo. Looks very professional! Did you do that yourself?!

    1. You have put so many smiles on my face with your Doodles! Glad to be finally able to put one on yours.

It just worked out. I was wondering how to announce this before and now… perfect! Yes, I did it myself. It’s simple, but I’m proud of it.

      1. This definitely is a perfect way to announce it!
        Hopefully more reviews will follow.
I am browsing the internet for that anyhow, so I will keep you updated!

  4. This is great. Both the pillow and the review and the “Partnership” idea. I like the idea of promoting smaller businesses, independent artisans. You really are golden.
