I don’t want to be a party pooper here, but I don’t agree with this one entirely… 😬

I see. Good question. How do you feel about that? I don’t really have much experience with that, so I can only theorize.
However, what I was trying to say is that if you are not OK with the person you are, you will suffer. That does not mean that you won’t suffer when you ARE yourself, though. Does that make more sense?

So true. And in this era of influencers and social media, people seem to crave the idea of creating a fictional version of themselves to showcase the world, making them inevitably embrace multiple personalities and suffering for it on levels they’ll only ever understand much later in life.

Agreed.
Mine: Don’t keep compliments, praise, and gratitude to yourself.

I like that!
It was a national compliment day a week or two ago. I noticed that while I give those out, it’s not something I do often/frivolously.

For me, I noticed several years ago that I rarely verbalized compliments, praise, and gratitude…particularly with strangers. I now am much better at spitting the words out when I have the thought instead of just keeping it a secret with myself. I don’t think it’s frivolous to share positivity, as long as it’s not dishonest/illegitimate.

Absolutely, and it’s something I would like to work on.
I remember having a student a few years back who complimented everyone about everything. Everyone was suspicious…

I can understand that—she came off as a brown-noser. Luckily for me, I don’t have constant complimentary thoughts about others. 🤣
