“Wake me up when September ends”. Do you know that song by Green Day? In my every day life I like to use that phrase when I know something will take a long time, and/ or I want to be left alone for a while. Most of the time the end of September is far away, but in September, it is not that much fun to use that phrase. It definitely cannot be used today. However, if you were sleeping, I am here to tell you that September is ending, so WAKE UP! (Literally, or figuratively.) The summer is dead and gone, so you better make sure you prepare for winter (both physically and mentally).

Today, I would like to thank you all for your continued support – the reading, the commenting, the liking, the re-blogging, etc. It really does make blogging so much better.

A special thanks goes to two bloggers, who nominated me for this month’s awards, so that I had an “Award ceremony” post to publish. I was slightly worried that when the dust settled, the shine wore off, Gold(ie) tarnished, and you all exchanged me for a newer model. It is my hope that my posts are still thought provoking, entertaining, and sometimes maybe inspiring.

    1. Don’t you think kittens are unfair to cats? Everyone salivates over kitties, but not as much over full grown cats. If you were a cat, wouldn’t you murder your kitties so that you would remain no.1?

  4. It’s crazy to think that you have put that much effort in getting to a University.
    Here in Holland they are practically begging people to go to their Uni!

    Lot of youngsters become independent once they start their Uni. It’s the perfect opportunity.
    Those who choose to stay at home, might not leave their parent’s nest very soon.

    I was one that stayed at home during Uni. It’s a little over an hour commute, but I could save some money and it was just convenient.
    I got used to it, but also panicked because I didn’t think I would ever make a big step like that.
    Then somehow I got that internship in Denmark and started becoming independent.

    I agree. During the first phase of living on your own s when you learn the most about life and about yourself.

    I will have to think about my story!

    1. It’s totally true about saving money. But back then, I did not care, because there was no money that was mine. I’m much wiser now that I earn my own.

  10. Congrats on your awards! That uni experience of living away from home is one I wonder if I could have experienced but missed out on. I never did consider applying to further away schools at the time I pursued higher education.

    1. It was never on my mind until I was pushed into a corner. I definitely recommend it to those who weigh their options. But it’s not for everyone. I realize that.
      It all happens for a reason. It probably wasn’t your time. Have you had the chance to experience the “adulting” since?

      1. Depends on what you mean by adulting, lol. One adulting thing I have strictly avoided is credit cards because I don’t like having bills to pay off when I could just pay in cash and get it over with. Right now I do have something that may potentially help me up my adulting game in the future, but it’s not 100% confirmed yet so I will probably share more about it on my blog if it pans out.

        1. I’d avoid credit cards, too, but in the US, you have to use it to build credit, which is needed to rent an apartment, buy a car, get a cell phone service, etc. But I still use it rather rarely.
          By adulting I meant shopping, cooking, doing laundry, paying bills all on your own.

          1. Aw, darn it. :/ I didn’t know I had to build credit to access that stuff… I think I can handle some adulting stuff, but not all of it. Cooking on my own… I can only do it on a very basic level lol. Laundry is no sweat for me because I grew up putting clothes in the load, hanging them to dry, and folding them. I hardly ever use the clothing iron for anything though. Shopping… I’d say I could in my own neighborhood where I know where to look for cheaper prices on certain things. But it’s hard to have chances where I’m doing all this stuff completely 100% on my own since I still live with family.
